$90,000 in Grants Awarded To Local Nonprofits through The Washington Post Charities
Today The Washington Post announces the first grants made through The Washington Post Charities. A total of $90,000 has been awarded to four local educational organizations to support education for at-risk youth in the Washington, D.C.-area.
The 2011 grant recipients include:Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area, Capital Partners for Education, Everybody Wins! DC, The George B. Thomas, Sr. and Learning Academy Inc.
The Washington Post Charities, a Robert R. McCormick Foundation Fund, launched in 2009 and is dedicated to increasing educational opportunities available for at-risk youth and teens in the Greater Washington Region.
